In a heartwarming incident in Pennsylvania, a family accidentally took their pet cat on a long road trip when they discovered it hiding on the roof of their car, 100 miles away from home. The family, excited for their journey to New Hampshire for a marathon race and then to New York City for sightseeing, bid farewell to their pets, including their cat named Ray Ray, before setting off on their adventure.
Little did they know, Ray Ray was determined not to be left behind and had stealthily perched itself on the roof of their camper van. As they left Kittanning and drove up the hills, speeding along Interstate 80 at 70 miles per hour, Ray Ray was right above them.
When they made a pit stop at a gas station to refuel, Mara Denardo, Ray Ray’s owner, was surprised to see her husband pointing out the cat on the roof. What started as disbelief turned into laughter as they realized Ray Ray had been accompanying them throughout the journey.
Despite facing challenges like strong winds, the vehicle’s bumpy ride, and traffic congestion, Ray Ray successfully completed the 100-mile trip without any panic, showing that the adventurous feline was ready for the unexpected.
Deciding to let Ray Ray join them on the trip, the family purchased essentials for the cat, including a cat backpack to carry it on their adventures. Thus, Ray Ray officially became a part of their travel itinerary, from crossing the finish line at the marathon in New Hampshire to sightseeing comfortably nestled in the cat backpack in New York.
Mara shared, “Ray Ray had so much fun and experienced an amazing adventure. Wherever we went, I would capture videos and photos, making it seem like a whole adventure journey for him.”
