South Korea is gearing up to celebrate Children’s Day on May 5th, and actors Park Bo-young, Kim Go-eun, and EXO member Park Chan-yeol have all chosen this time to donate to help disadvantaged children.
On May 3rd, actor Park Bo-young made a donation through the international development cooperation NGO “G Foundation” to aid underprivileged children and teenagers in South Korea. In February 2022, Park Bo-young had previously donated 50 million Korean won (approximately 1.3 million new Taiwanese dollars/40,000 US dollars) to the organization to provide sanitary products for disadvantaged girls. This time, she donated another 50 million Korean won to help cover the expenses of girls’ underwear and cultural experience activities for children in foster care facilities.
Similarly, actor Kim Go-eun also donated 50 million Korean won to a children’s hospital on the same day (May 3rd) to help improve children’s healthcare. Since 2021, she has been making donations for four consecutive years, and this latest donation will be used to assist children in economically challenged situations and those with chronic and critical illnesses.
Kim Go-eun expressed, “I heard that the donations are being effectively used for the treatment of children in need, which touches my heart. In the future, I will continue to work diligently in my craft to become an actress who can repay everyone’s kindness.”
On the same day, Park Chan-yeol, a member of the popular South Korean boy band EXO, donated 20 million Korean won (about 520,000 new Taiwanese dollars/16,000 US dollars) to the charitable organization “Love Snail” that supports individuals with hearing impairment. This donation will be used to help deaf children undergo cochlear implant surgeries and speech rehabilitation therapy.
Child welfare and healthcare are at the forefront of these generous acts of kindness by Park Bo-young, Kim Go-eun, and Park Chan-yeol, showcasing their commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children in South Korea.
