Park Bo-lan’s Funeral: WINNER’s Seung-roon Carries Coffin and Writes Eulogy

On the morning of April 17, the funeral procession for the late South Korean singer Park Bora, who passed away suddenly on the night of April 11, departed from the Eosan Hospital mortuary in Songpa-gu, Seoul. Park Bora, who rose to fame through the talent show “Super Star K,” was bid farewell by her industry friends including singer Seo Geok and the leader of the boy band WINNER, Kang Seung Yoon, who also penned a tribute to Park Bora on this day.

The tragic incident occurred when Park Bora collapsed in a restroom after drinking with friends at a residence in Namyangju city on the night of the 11th. She was found without a pulse by her friends, and despite all efforts, she was pronounced dead that same night. Following the public announcement of her passing on the 12th, her body underwent a forensic autopsy per the family’s wishes, and on the 15th, her management company confirmed that there were no signs of foul play or suicide in the autopsy results.

After the autopsy, her body was placed at the Eosan Hospital mortuary for her family and friends to mourn. Apart from singer Seo Geok, who collaborated on a song with her in February of this year, friends from her time on “Super Star K” in 2010, such as WINNER’s Kang Seung Yoon, singer Kim Keo-rin, San E, 2AM members, and Brown Eyed Soul’s Youngjun, among others, came to pay their respects.

On this day, Park Bora’s funeral procession saw her brother carrying her portrait out of the mortuary, while industry friends like Roy Kim and Kang Seung Yoon served as pallbearers. Members of the girl group KARA, Huh Young Ji, actress Ko Eun-ya, singer Giant Pink, and more were also in attendance.

In the afternoon, Kang Seung Yoon took to his personal Instagram to share a photo of himself and Park Bora, along with a solo picture of her, writing a tribute post. He expressed, “There are so many things I regret not being able to do for you. But even so, Park Bora always smiled beautifully… If we meet again in the future, I will do better for you. Until then, please be happy!”

At just 30 years old, Park Bora will be laid to rest at the Dongshan Park in Chuncheon City, Gangwon Province.
