Overseas Chinese Support Safeguarding Taiwan’s Democracy Against Threats from the Chinese Communist Party.

June 15, 2025 News – Chinese expatriate Zhou Feng, currently residing in Iceland, initiated a special protest in front of the Chinese Embassy in Reykjavik, Iceland. The protest was themed “Supporting Taiwan’s Model of Freedom and Democracy” and included stepping on an image of Xi Jinping, symbolizing resistance against the threats posed by the Chinese Communist Party.

Zhou Feng, in an interview with The Epoch Times, expressed, “Today happens to be the birthday of the tyrant and dictator Xi Jinping. We chose this moment to raise banners and chant slogans: ‘Defend Taiwan’s freedom, the model of democracy must be defended!’ If the Communist bandits dare to invade Taiwan, we will wholeheartedly resist them!”

“Our goal is clear, to make the world hear the voice of overseas Chinese people and pledge to fight against communism until the end. To demonstrate our determination, I stepped on a paper bearing Xi Jinping’s image at the embassy entrance, symbolizing contempt for his tyranny and defense of freedom,” Zhou Feng stated.

Taiwan, as a beacon of democracy in Asia, has faced increasing military pressure and diplomatic isolation from the Chinese Communist Party in recent years. Holding a sign that read “One Country on Each Side, Mutual Non-Incorporation, Fight Together,” Zhou Feng called on Chinese people worldwide and democracy advocates to unite against military unification and infiltration. “If China dares to violate Taiwan, we will unite, resist as one, and never surrender,” he emphasized.

“Although the crowd on-site was not large, the determination in everyone’s eyes was palpable. A local supporter from Iceland approached me, patting my shoulder, saying, ‘Your courage moves me, I support your cause of justice.’ These words further strengthened my conviction,” Zhou Feng shared.

The activities started at 10 am and continued until 2 pm. “We raised the flag of Taiwan high, shouted slogans, attracting passersby to stop and watch. Some took photos, some applauded, and a Chinese passerby quietly warned, ‘Be careful, they might not let you off.’ I understand this path is challenging, but for the freedom of Taiwan, for the future of democracy, I am willing to bear it all,” Zhou Feng expressed.

“We urge global attention on Taiwan, especially the young generation, to join this fight for freedom. On Xi Jinping’s birthday, we are not just protesting; we are also proclaiming: the Taiwanese people will never give up, and the world cannot ignore us!” Zhou Feng stressed.
