Oscar-Nominated Film Director Supports “Hewo” Running Mate

The four-day 2024 Democratic National Convention (DNC) kicked off on Monday, August 19, at the United Center in Chicago with the theme of “For the People.” Current U.S. President Biden, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and others delivered keynote speeches. Biden formally passed the baton to current Vice President Harris.

The first day of the Democratic Party convention gathered many political figures, celebrities, and representatives. Oscar-nominated film director expressed support for the ticket of “Harris and Walz” to NTD reporters. Republican activist Charlie Kirk was also present at the event and told NTD that Harris becoming the Democratic nominee has made the election “more intense.”

Actor, director, producer, and political activist Rob Reiner attended the Democratic National Convention this week. He stated that people are coming together to support the Harris-Walz ticket.

The prolific director, who has directed multiple Oscar-nominated films such as “Stand by Me” and “The Princess Bride,” told NTD’s Kelly Wright that the Harris-Walz ticket will attract support from independent voters and protect American democracy.

Republican activist Charlie Kirk also attended the Democratic Party convention on August 19. He mentioned that Kamala Harris becoming the Democratic nominee has intensified the election battle.

“It will be a tough fight, now that the Democratic Party has a new nominee, making the election even more intense,” said political activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk, on the first day of the Democratic National Convention to NTD’s Tiffany Meier. He emphasized the importance for the Republican Party to focus on issues such as inflation and immigration to effectively convey their message.
