Only 12 Days Left Until the Election: How is the Election Situation in Seven Battleground States for Trump and Biden?

With less than two weeks left until the 2024 US presidential election, Vice President Harris and former President Trump are locked in a tight race in key swing states, almost neck and neck. The latest polls show that this situation is likely to continue until November.

According to a survey released by Bloomberg News/Morning Consult on Wednesday, in seven swing states, Harris and Trump’s support rates are almost equal. The Vice President leads her Republican opponent by a slim margin with 49.1% support, while Trump has 48.5%.

In Arizona, the results are similar with Harris leading by 49.1% to Trump’s 48.8%. According to the poll, in Georgia, Trump leads the Democratic nominee with 49.9% against 48.4%.

The survey also found that Trump is leading in North Carolina with 49.6% to Harris’s 48.5%, and in Wisconsin with 48.3% to 48% for Harris.

In the crucial state of Pennsylvania, Harris leads with 50% support to Trump’s 48.2%. She also has an advantage in Michigan with 49.6% to the former president’s 46.5%. In Nevada, the Vice President is slightly ahead with 48.8% to the Republican nominee’s 48.3%.

The margin of error for each state’s results is within the survey’s range.

The Bloomberg News/Morning Consult survey was conducted among 5,308 registered voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin from October 16th to 20th. The margin of error is 1 percentage point.

Analysis from The Hill suggests that Harris’ momentum rose quickly after President Biden withdrew from the race at the end of July and has continued into the late summer. However, recent polls have shown a shift towards Trump, indicating that the enthusiasm that propelled Harris as the Democratic nominee may be waning.

The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s polling index shows that the Vice President leads Trump by 0.9 percentage points nationwide – 48.7% to 47.8%.

Furthermore, data tracked by the Florida University Election Laboratory shows that with less than two weeks left until the November 5th election, nearly 25 million American voters have already cast their votes in person or by mail.

Last week, several states, including North Carolina and Georgia, set records for the number of voters on the first day of early voting.

In the past few days, both candidates have been engaged in campaign blitzes in swing states, with Harris in Pennsylvania and Trump in Georgia on Wednesday.

After Trump’s stop in the small town of Zebulon, he headed to Duluth for a rally with former Fox News star Tucker Carlson and former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Harris then attended a CNN town hall event in Chester Township, Pennsylvania.

With only 12 days left until the election, both candidates are ramping up their efforts, hoping to sway undecided voters to their side. In this election, even a small percentage of votes could be crucial to the outcome.
