Northern China continues to have high temperatures, Ningxia breaks record, sharp temperature drop tomorrow.

Recently in northern China, the weather has been hot, but it quickly dropped in temperature. On May 22nd, areas in southern Xinjiang and northern Ningxia experienced high temperatures, with temperatures in the central and northern parts of Ningxia reaching over 35°C. It is forecasted that temperatures in most northern regions will drop on the 24th, especially in North China and Northwest China. For example, Shijiazhuang in Hebei Province could reach a high of 35°C on the 23rd, but drop to 22°C on the 24th.

On May 23rd, according to China Weather Network, the northern parts of China continued to experience hot and clear weather on the 22nd, including areas such as southern Xinjiang, northern Ningxia, western Gansu, as well as the central and western parts of Inner Mongolia, where high temperatures were observed.

The high temperatures are expected to persist in the north on the 23rd, with Shijiazhuang in Hebei and Yinchuan in Ningxia likely experiencing their first high temperature of the year.

The Ningxia Weather Official Website reported that from May 21st to 22nd, many areas in Ningxia reached temperatures of 35°C. According to monitoring data from the Ningxia Climate Center, temperatures above 35°C were recorded in many parts of central and northern Ningxia on the 22nd. This high temperature marked the first high temperature day in Ningxia this year, significantly earlier than usual.

Wang Suyan, chief expert at the Ningxia Climate Center, mentioned that temperatures in the region have been unusually high since May. The average temperature for the entire region from May 1st to 22nd reached 18.9°C, which is 3.2°C higher than the same period in a typical year, the highest value for the same period since complete meteorological records began in 1961.

According to the earlier report from China Weather Network, starting on the 24th, temperatures will drop in most northern regions due to cold air and rainfall, especially in North China and Northwest China where the drop will be most significant. For instance, in Shijiazhuang, Hebei, the highest temperature on the 23rd could reach 35°C, but drop to 22°C on the 24th. At the Nanjiao Observatory in Beijing on the 22nd, the temperature soared to 30.2°C, with a high of 31°C on the 23rd, but it is expected to drop to 24°C on the 24th.

The report also stated that starting this Sunday (the 26th), as cold air moves eastward and rainfall occurs, the highest temperatures in most parts of northeastern China will only be slightly above 20°C, with a noticeable coolness in the air.
