North Tenth Hospital in Taoyuan Responds to “Taiwan Alcohol-Free Day” by Embracing Sobriety and Wellness

In May, in addition to Mother’s Day, there is also the promotion of health concepts such as no alcohol, moderation in drinking, and zero alcohol consumption (drinking non-alcoholic beverages) on “Taiwan Alcohol-Free Day.”

On May 9, 113, the Taoyuan Branch of Taipei Veterans General Hospital, led by Vice President Yang Sining, held a campaign to prevent alcohol harm in the lobby of the medical building. The event included a series of exciting and informative health education content and interactive activities, providing the public with a healthy and enjoyable participation experience.

The event kicked off with the screening of a video featuring slogans against alcohol consumption prepared by all healthcare personnel of the hospital, aiming to raise public awareness and concern for a life without alcohol. The video will be played throughout the day in the lobby. Additionally, two professional psychiatric nurses, Ke Yixin and Huang Yunting, were arranged to educate the public on self-monitoring of alcohol addiction, understanding alcohol use disorder, alcohol intolerance, and the harmful effects of alcohol on human health. They also provided explanations on drug treatment for alcohol cessation to enhance public awareness of the dangers of alcohol and the benefits of an alcohol-free lifestyle.

At the end of the event, people were invited to join the daytime ward students in a healthy exercise and movement session, enjoying the happiness of physical activity and showcasing the charm of a healthy lifestyle.

Vice President Yang Sining of Taipei Veterans General Hospital Taoyuan Branch stated that the hospital upholds the mission of “high-quality and safe community healthcare” and “compassionate and healthy care for all,” and it is obliged to advocate for moderate alcohol consumption, respecting one’s own body and sense of social responsibility. Through this opportunity, they aim to explore the joy and beauty of a life without alcohol. The Taoyuan Branch of Taipei Veterans General Hospital invites everyone to pay attention to the importance of a non-alcoholic lifestyle, strive for a healthy and happy life, and collectively support alcohol-free living, moderation in drinking, and zero alcohol consumption!
