New York Scripture Bureau’s new director Li Zhiqiang visits Epoch Times New Tang Dynasty headquarters

The newly appointed Director of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York, Lee Chih-chiang, arrived in New York on the 15th and immediately began visiting traditional overseas Chinese communities, the Taiwan Center, and on Friday visited the headquarters of The Epoch Times and New Tang Dynasty Television in Manhattan. Lee Chih-chiang stated that he plans to deepen Taiwan’s relations with four states in the United States, strengthen consular work, and actively engage with friendly countries.

The Epoch Times and the New Tang Dynasty Media Group’s newly appointed interim CEO Ms. Janice Trey welcomed the visit of Director Lee Chih-chiang to the cultural office, leading him on a tour of the media headquarters.

During the meeting, interim CEO Janice Trey introduced that The Epoch Times was founded in the United States in 2000, upholding universal values, principles of truth, freedom of faith and speech, and respect for human rights. After many years of operation, it has branches in 35 countries worldwide, publishes on five continents, and has websites in 23 languages including Chinese, English, and Spanish. With its diverse language coverage and exceptional news quality, it has gained a foothold in international mainstream society and enjoyed the love and support of readers and viewers worldwide.

Director Lee Chih-chiang expressed that the bilingual news anchors of New Tang Dynasty are comprehensive and able to provide real-time live reporting. He mentioned that multi-lingual reporting is a challenging task, and seeing such efficient operations in the media group left a deep impression on him.

The Epoch Times and New Tang Dynasty not only focus on news reporting but also actively promote traditional culture worldwide, hosting nine international competitions. In an interview, Lee Chih-chiang stated that through these international competitions, more people can participate, which is of great significance for promoting and disseminating traditional culture.

Regarding his new job responsibilities, Lee Chih-chiang stated in an interview that he will continue to deepen cooperation and exchanges between Taiwan and New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania, covering various aspects such as economy, culture, United Nations affairs, consular and economic affairs, providing high-quality services to overseas nationals and compatriots.

Lee Chih-chiang entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1994, and his first overseas assignment in 1998 was to Kansas, USA. He has also served as Ambassador to St. Christopher and Nevis, Director of the Vancouver Office, and was dispatched to serve in embassies in Gambia, Liberia, among others. He later served as Deputy Director and Director of the Protocol Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
