New York City’s Fourth of July fireworks display, also known as Independence Day, will have a change of venue this year after being held at Hudson River Park for the first time since 2013. Mayor Eric Adams announced on June 25th that 10,000 free tickets will be distributed for the Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks show on July 4th along the Hudson River in Manhattan.
The 10,000 free Independence Day fireworks tickets will be available for online application starting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26th on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information or ticket purchases, visit: www.nycjuly4.com. Each person is limited to applying for 2 tickets. Those without tickets can still view the fireworks along the West Side Highway.
People can enjoy the Fourth of July fireworks show from five locations: (1) Christopher St and Washington St intersection, (2) West 11th St and Washington St intersection, (3) West 12th St and Washington St intersection, (4) West 29th St and 11th Ave intersection, and (5) West 40th St and 11th Ave intersection.
Accessible viewing areas for ADA compliance are located at Christopher St, Washington St, West 41st St, and 11th Ave.
Mayor Adams stated in a press release, “While all New Yorkers can attend Macy’s Fourth of July Independence Day fireworks show, the government will also give 10,000 lucky New Yorkers the chance to have front-row seats. Providing everyone with a fair opportunity to participate in one of the city’s most exciting and iconic events, I look forward to celebrating America’s birthday in New York with thousands of spectators.”

This year marks the first time Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks display will be launched from barges along the Hudson River, illuminating the skyline of New York City and providing prime viewing from several miles in Manhattan’s West Side.
