New York City Government Issues Alert: Monday Snowfall May Affect Evening Commute.

The New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM) issued a winter weather advisory on Sunday, warning of potential snowfall and inclement weather conditions on Monday, January 6th. According to the forecast from the National Weather Service, snow is expected to start on Monday morning and continue into the evening, with projected snowfall of less than 1 inch, possibly reaching up to 2 inches. As the snowstorm approaches, further adjustments to the forecast data may occur.

After the snowfall, cold weather will blanket the city through the weekend, with temperatures expected to be 5 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit below normal, and strong winds bringing temperatures down to the teens.

Zach Iscol, Commissioner of the New York City Emergency Management, cautioned residents that the snowfall will result in slippery roads, impacting both drivers and pedestrians. He advised everyone to use public transportation as much as possible, plan their journeys in advance, and closely monitor the weather forecasts.

Stay safe and warm as the city prepares for winter weather conditions.
