The Southern California Chinese College Alumni Association held its mid-year board meeting on June 23 (Sunday) at the Arcadia Community Center, where they elected the Chairman and President for 2025. The current Chairman in 2024, Li Jiande, announced that Tang Kecheng and Zeng Xiangyu were respectively elected as the Chairman and President for 2025, with their terms running from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025.
Li Jiande stated that the Alumni Association consists of 42 member schools and 131 board members. The candidates for Chairman and President presented their campaign platforms on the day of the election and were chosen through a fair, just, and transparent process.
Tang Kecheng expressed his commitment to serving as a competent Chairman with a passionate heart. He outlined three main service directions. The first is to abide by the association’s rules, implement the decisions of the board, advocate for the rights of the Chinese community, and uphold the purpose of service. The second is to oversee the board and assist the President in promoting activities, and foster communication among alumni associations. The third point is to actively encourage new alumni associations to join, enhance and maintain the honor and image of the unified alumni association.
Zeng Xiangyu mentioned that as President, he will uphold traditions, adhere to the association’s regulations, listen to feedback, serve with passion, communicate and coordinate effectively, develop the association, embrace talent and align with the mainstream, and promote the spirit of higher education.
