The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported on Thursday, December 4, that a 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck the Dayton area in Nevada.
According to the agency, the epicenter was at a depth of 8 kilometers (4.97 miles) and located approximately 30 miles east of Lake Tahoe.
Dayton is about 40 miles away from Reno. The San Francisco Chronicle reported that even phones in San Francisco received earthquake early warning alerts.
As of now, there have been no reports of casualties or property damage.
