Following the artificial stone controversy of the “First Peak of Pengcheng” on Wutong Mountain, it has recently been revealed that the landscape stone at another attraction in Shenzhen—Phoenix Mountain Forest Park—is also fake. The park responded that the landscape stone “Phoenix Mountain” is indeed man-made.
On November 13th, a netizen posted a video online claiming, “After climbing Phoenix Mountain for over ten years, I found out that the stone on Phoenix Mountain is also fake.” The surface of the stone he filmed showed weathered concrete peeling off, revealing steel bars in the stone crevices.
A reporter from “O1 News” in Guangzhou called the staff at Phoenix Mountain Forest Park, who confirmed that the landscape stone is indeed artificial.
Many netizens exclaimed “house of cards collapsing” and expressed their shock, viewing this as another “breach” following the revelation that the “First Peak of Pengcheng” on Wutong Mountain was artificial.
Phoenix Mountain Forest Park is located in Fenghuang Village, Fuyong Street, Bao’an District, Shenzhen, covering an area of 27.65 square kilometers, and is one of the top ten attractions in Bao’an. The main peak of Phoenix Mountain is 376 meters above sea level, spanning Fuyong, Hangcheng, Xinqiao, Gongming, and Shiran Streets, forming a crescent shape, with views of the Lingding Ocean to the west and Shenzhen Bay to the south, earning the title of “Bao’an’s First Mountain.”
On October 29th, a netizen exposed that the “First Peak of Pengcheng” at the top of Wutong Mountain in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, is a man-made stone. The artificial stone was damaged, exposing bricks and steel-reinforced structures inside, sparking public outrage. The management office of Wutong Mountain Scenic Area responded to Shenzhen News Network, stating that the giant rock is a man-made fake mountain.
Wutong Mountain is a famous tourist destination in Shenzhen, with its main peak reaching 943.7 meters above sea level, making it the highest peak in Shenzhen and earning the reputation of “First Peak of Pengcheng.” It attracts a large number of tourists annually for sightseeing, and the giant rock at the peak has become a landmark of Shenzhen, a popular photo spot for visitors, with “First Peak of Pengcheng” engraved on it. Surprisingly, this giant rock turned out to be artificial.
