SM Entertainment announced on the 20th that Huang Renjun, a Chinese member of the Korean boy group NCT DREAM under their label, will temporarily halt his activities in the entertainment industry due to poor health and mental instability, as he focuses on recuperation.
According to the announcement by SM Entertainment, “Renjun has recently experienced physical discomfort and symptoms of anxiety. After medical examination, doctors have advised him to take a break and rest adequately. The company prioritizes the health of its artists, so after careful discussion with Renjun, it was decided that he should concentrate on treatment and recovery.”
Regarding Renjun’s upcoming schedule, SM Entertainment stated that “Starting from today (the 20th), Renjun will not participate in any work engagements. If Renjun is able to resume activities, we will inform everyone of the new schedule.”
As a result, the third special concert of NCT DREAM, “THE DREAM SHOW 3: DREAM( )SCAPE,” scheduled from May 2nd to 4th, will proceed with the other six members. SM Entertainment also asked for fans’ understanding in this matter, apologized for causing concern among fans, and assured that the company will do its utmost to have Renjun return in good health.
Furthermore, at the end of the announcement, SM Entertainment emphasized their determination to protect the rights of their artists against malicious behaviors such as slander, harassment, spreading false information, and damaging their reputation. The company will continue to monitor and take legal actions against those involved, not settling and pursuing legal responsibilities.
