A man in Henan spent 350,000 yuan to buy an Ideal L8 car, but ended up restarting it 15 times within 10 days, prompting him to request a replacement.
According to a report from Henan’s lifestyle channel “Xiao Li Helps” on April 9, Mr. Guo from Zhengzhou, Henan, stated during an interview that he spent around 350,000 yuan to purchase an Ideal L8 car. He made the payment on March 23 and received the car on the 26th. However, just half an hour into driving, the car’s infotainment system started to restart.
“While driving, the infotainment system went black and kept restarting, with no communication during this time. Within 10 days of receiving the car, the infotainment system restarted over 15 times,” Mr. Guo said. “I spent over 300,000 yuan on this Ideal car, hoping for intelligence, but it ended up being ‘intellectually disabled’ instead.”
In response to this, Ideal car staff mentioned that historical records showed an internal fault in the main module and they needed to verify whether the problem reported by the owner was caused by this issue and if dismantling the car was necessary.
However, Mr. Guo disagreed with repairing it and insisted on a replacement. Yet, Ideal car staff claimed that it did not meet the requirements of the Three Guarantees Law for automobiles, so they couldn’t provide a replacement car. Both parties are set to further communicate on this matter.

Public data reveals that the Ideal L8 is a smart luxury mid-to-large-sized SUV manufactured by Ideal Cars, serving as the successor to Ideal ONE. It was launched on September 30, 2022, and has not been on the market for even three years.
