Museum Collapse in Taiyuan, Multiple Buildings Leveled Instantly.

There have been reports from netizens recently that a collapse occurred at the Taiyuan Museum in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, and the authorities randomly announced the closure of the museum. Aerial footage shows severe collapse of some buildings on the mountainside, with a large crater appearing on the mountainside.

The video posted by netizens shows a sudden collapse of a building in the Taiyuan Museum scenic area, with a large amount of yellow dust rising at the scene.

According to reports from the Huashang Daily, witnesses stated that on that day, some visitors had just arrived at the entrance of the scenic area when they were informed by staff that the mountain was closed and entry was prohibited.

That evening, the Taiyuan Museum issued a notice of closure stating that due to a geological disaster, the museum would be temporarily closed with the reopening time to be notified separately.

Journalists from Jiumu News visited the scene on the 4th and found that there were hardly any tourists in the scenic area, and most nearby businesses had also ceased operation.

Footage captured by aerial enthusiast Mr. Gao shows severe collapse of some buildings in the front section of the Taiyuan Museum complex. A large crater appeared on the mountainside, with a significant amount of yellow soil exposed, and the mountain trail blocked by the crater.

By comparing panoramic images of the Taiyuan Museum with aerial videos, the collapsed buildings were identified as the Taiyuan Wood Carving Art Gallery hall and the Upper Court Heavenly King Hall, among others.

On the 4th, reporters from the media outlet called the Taiyuan Museum, and the staff did not mention specific details of the building collapse, only stating that government departments had intervened and that the cultural relics inside the museum were not affected.

The Jinyuan District Cultural Tourism Department responded to Jiumu News, stating that this incident did not cause any casualties.

The Taiyuan Museum is located in Fengyugou, about 20 kilometers southwest of Taiyuan City, with a total area of approximately 3.6 million square meters. It was announced as the seventh batch of national key cultural relic protection units by the State Council in 2013.

According to reports from Xingdao Net, some netizens online claimed that Taiyuan Mountain was not originally a scenic area and that there were mine tunnels inside the mountain.
