Murder Suspect from Washington State Spotted in Southern California, Police Warn Community to Be Cautious

Authorities have issued a warning to the public, stating that a murder suspect from Washington state may have fled to Southern California. Police in Calabasas, Los Angeles County, discovered the suspect’s vehicle in the area. The suspect has been identified as 51-year-old Alexander Lee Rogers.

According to the Longview Police Department in Washington state, Rogers is wanted for the murder of 64-year-old Dawn Peters and attempted murder of 73-year-old Andrew Peters in Longview on August 5th. He is currently being sought by law enforcement.

There is now strong evidence suggesting that Rogers has been sighted in the greater Los Angeles area. Law enforcement officials in the outskirts of the city have located and impounded the black BMW that Rogers was driving on August 5th.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed on Monday that they found the abandoned BMW belonging to Rogers, with parts of the black car body having been repainted. Police are concerned that the suspect may still be lurking nearby.

Based on photos and information released by the Longview Police Department, Rogers is described as a white male, standing at 6 feet 2 inches (approximately 1.88 meters) tall and weighing around 190 pounds (approximately 86 kilograms). Authorities believe he is armed and dangerous, urging the public to immediately dial 911 if they spot the suspect and advising against approaching or attempting to make contact with him.

Furthermore, authorities mentioned, “We are collaborating with local law enforcement agencies to continue the search. Detectives from Longview are heading to Los Angeles to collect vehicle evidence and provide necessary assistance.”
