Multiple Vehicle Chain Collision on Shenhai Expressway, Witnesses Say At Least Over Twenty Vehicles

On the morning of February 3rd, a chain collision accident occurred on the Liaoning Anshan section of the Shenhai Expressway connecting Shenyang in Liaoning Province and Haikou in Hainan Province, reportedly due to low visibility caused by heavy fog. Witnesses stated that at least twenty vehicles were involved in the collision.

A viral video showed that the accident took place around 8 a.m. on February 3rd. The Liaoning Anshan section of the Shenhai Expressway was shrouded in thick fog, with many vehicles damaged to varying degrees and scattered debris strewn across the scene. One person lay on the side of the road while a suspected family member sat next to them awaiting rescue.

According to reports from “The Paper,” witnesses claimed that at least twenty vehicles were involved in the collision, with many suffering severe damage.

The Liaoning Expressway Administration responded to the accident by stating that the road was closed starting at 8 a.m. and the situation was resolved and the road reopened by 9:30 a.m.

In the comments section of the video, a netizen who had passed the section remarked, “I was stuck in traffic between Anshan and Haicheng at noon.” Another netizen named “Writesuccess” mentioned, “There was also an accident near Yingkou from south to north at night.”

Netizen “Boos” issued a reminder, “Between Liaoyang, there is often thick fog in this section, and accidents are prone to occur if inexperienced drivers brake or stop suddenly. The correct approach is to slow down to around 80, do not change lanes, turn on fog lights, and hazard lights to pass through slowly.”
