A circulated video online shows a white sedan suddenly speeding out from a side intersection onto a road in Longgang, Shenzhen, crossing directly and at high speed.
Another video depicts the white sedan coming to a stop on a grassy area on the opposite side of the road, with at least three individuals lying on the ground, two of whom show no signs of life and were covered with clothing. A man was seen struggling to breathe while a middle-aged woman was crying in distress. A traffic police officer was also present on the scene, urging for immediate transportation to a hospital to save lives.
An eyewitness commented in the online discussion section, expressing the heartbreak of witnessing a father passing away beside them, the mother in shock and uncertain of her survival, and a young child losing their father at such a tender age. They recounted the despair evident in the child’s eyes. “The child was there, with the parents lying beside them.”
According to the local police report, at about 8:40 p.m. on August 2nd, a traffic accident involving a collision between a car and an electric bicycle occurred at the intersection of Jixiang Road and Longgang Avenue in Longgang District, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to five, including the 36-year-old male driver of the car named Li. The report attributed the accident to a sudden physical discomfort experienced by the driver, Li.
However, the discrepancy in the number of fatalities led to questioning by some netizens.
