Mother’s Day Demand for Daughters to Make Cards Melody: It’s also a form of growing up.

Taiwanese actress Melody attended the grand opening event of a boutique candy flagship store at Taipei 101 on May 8th. She served as the brand ambassador for the opening. Talking about Mother’s Day this year, she shared that she plans to spend the day with her children and her mother. Melody expressed her gratitude towards her mother for accompanying her in Taipei throughout the year. Each year, she asks her children to write cards for her and for their grandmother.

When asked why she requests her daughter to write cards, Melody explained that she enjoys seeing the different handwriting styles of her children as they grow up. From kindergarten to higher grades, each year brings new handwriting styles and content. She believes it’s a valuable growth process for a mother.

Regarding whether it puts pressure on her children, Melody mentioned that there is a bit of pressure because her children now understand the tradition of writing heartfelt messages in the cards. Media further inquired if it brings her to tears, to which she responded that she used to be deeply moved by the sincere messages of gratitude from her children, expressing their support and willingness to share everything with her.

As her children are currently in their teenage years, Melody noted that even though they might find her annoying at times, they always end their conversations with “love you.” She emphasized the importance of maintaining a friendly and sister-like relationship with her children.

As the ambassador for the boutique candy brand on the opening day, Melody reminisced about her past dates at the movies where she always bought a packet of gummy candies along with popcorn. She mentioned how every bite of the gummy candy brings back nostalgic memories of innocent teenage love. Now a mother of two teenage daughters, she revealed that she often serves gummy candies in champagne or Martini glasses while hosting guests or throwing parties at home.

Formerly strict about ingredients and calories, Melody now embraces a life motto of “happiness is key, don’t stress yourself out too much.” She admitted her love for gummy candies, especially during stressful moments.

On Mother’s Day, Melody plans to celebrate with her daughters and mother by enjoying good food and drinks together. She firmly believes that spending quality time together, rather than extravagant gifts, is the most important and priceless way to commemorate the occasion.
