Ming Chuan University Alumni Association in the East Coast of the United States Holds the 32nd Annual Meeting

The Taiwan Min-Chuan University Alumni Association held its 32nd annual meeting on June 23 in Flushing, New York. During the event, the newly elected president, Peng Jingxiang, received the official seal from the outgoing president, Lou Xiaoyi. The handover ceremony was presided over by Vice Consul General Zhang Junyu, who is soon to return to Taiwan from his post in New York.

Peng Jingxiang, the new president, expressed her dedication to continuing the legacy and development of the alumni association. She emphasized serving the alumni with goodwill as the main goal and striving to promote learning, sharing, and happiness. Peng plans to leverage social media to enhance communication and interaction among alumni, aiming to make the association a platform for exchange and connection, attracting more alumni participation, and strengthening collaboration with local communities and other university alumni associations.

Peng Jingxiang mentioned that the alumni association has recently registered as a member of the American Cancer Society and will participate in the annual “Pink October” breast cancer awareness parade.

During the annual meeting, alumni enjoyed singing, dancing, and a rich lottery draw. Renowned literary master Wang Dingjun, who is 100 years old this year, donated his book series “Memoirs Quartet” and essay collections “Peach Blossom Flowing Water Vanishing” and “Love Consciousness Flow” as prizes for the evening’s lucky draw.

Min-Chuan University, formerly known as the “Min-Chuan Women’s Commercial Vocational School” established in late 1956, was the earliest private women’s commercial school in Taiwan. In July 1990, it was upgraded to the “Min-Chuan Institute of Management” and became coeducational. In 1997, it was renamed as “Min-Chuan University.”
