Melania Trump: Husband’s Narrow Escape from Assassination Attempt Seen as “Miracle”

Former First Lady Melania Trump has revealed that former President Trump survived two assassination attempts this summer, calling it a “miracle.”

In an interview with Fox News this week, Melania described her psychological reaction after Trump was grazed by a bullet during an assassination attempt on July 13 at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Recalling her response to the event, Melania expressed, “I ran to the television and rewound the video to watch it again. I only missed a few minutes, I thought, what affected me. In other words, I didn’t really watch it live, maybe, you know, missed three minutes, a few minutes.”

She continued to reflect, “But when I saw it (the situation at that time), I, you know, that was… no one really knew what happened at that time. Because when you see him (Trump) lying on the ground, you don’t know, don’t know what exactly happened.”

The former First Lady added, “If you think about it carefully, these two (assassination attempts on Trump) incidents really are miracles.”

She lamented, “July 13, that was simply a miracle, he could have… you know, he could have left us.”

During her conversation with Fox host Ainsley Earhardt, Melania also discussed how she met the former president and how her career in the fashion industry prepared her to handle life in the White House, the various criminal litigations faced by the former president, and the subsequent scrutiny.

She also detailed how the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago in Florida in a case involving confidential documents related to the former president made her feel “privacy violated.”

On July 14, the day after Trump’s assassination attempt, the former First Lady issued a poignant statement calling for unity among Americans after the incident. In her statement, she wrote, “Let us not forget, different opinions, policies, and political games are nothing compared to love.” She urged all Americans to strive to “transcend hate, divisiveness, and the foolish ideas that incite violence,” stating that “we must insist on respect once again becoming the cornerstone of our interpersonal relationships.”

Melania was born in 1970 in the former Yugoslav republic of Slovenia. She studied design and photography in high school, pursued architectural studies at the University of Ljubljana, and began working as a commercial model at the age of 16. At 18, she registered with a modeling agency in Milan, Italy, moved to New York in 1996, married Donald Trump in 2005, gained U.S. citizenship in 2006, and gave birth to their son Barron William Trump on March 20 of the same year. She is the first First Lady to become a U.S. citizen through naturalization.

Since former President Trump left the White House in early 2021, Melania has maintained a relatively low profile and rarely appeared in her husband’s current election campaign activities.
