May Kaohsiung concert only one show, Xu Fukai reveals reason for not adding shows

On May 11, the Golden Melody King Xu Fukai will be holding a concert at the Kaohsiung Pop Music Center. The tickets for the concert sold out quickly after going on sale recently. In a recent interview with LiTV, Xu was asked if he would consider adding more shows, to which he replied steadfastly, “This is the only show in Kaohsiung, specifically for the locals here.”

When questioned why he wouldn’t add more shows to make more money, Xu responded, “When it comes to making money, as long as I have work, I’m not afraid. The key is to present the best works to everyone. I hope that when people come to listen to me sing on May 11, they can go home feeling very satisfied.”

Having roles as a singer, actor, and host, Xu Fukai has also been invited to be a judge for the Golden Melody Awards. He personally wrote the lyrics for his new album “Wu Mu University” and each song on the album tells a story, akin to a version of “City of Sadness” on Linsen North Road. When asked if he has considered venturing into a new field as a screenwriter to turn his works into a theatrical production, Xu replied, “For me, many things in life are based on where I am at that point in life. I don’t limit myself, set standards, or goals. I just feel that I need to read more books, learn a lot from them. I’m not sure what developments will come in the future, but at least I don’t restrict my own steps or frame of mind. I hope to break the stereotype of a ‘Taiwanese singer’ in everyone’s mind.”

In fact, Xu Fukai has a keen interest in nail art. He admitted that he has been researching this area, stating, “I feel that doing nail art makes me very calm because it involves a lot of details. I also like painting. When there’s stress, nail art helps me forget many things.” He even told his manager that he wants to enroll in a nail art class, saying, “If I don’t have any work in the future, I’ll enter this industry!”
