Mandani meets House leader Jeffries again, still without endorsement.

This week in New York, Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani met with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and several other Democratic congressional members, but did not receive their formal endorsement.

According to Fox News, Mamdani met with Jeffries, Representative Yvette Clarke, and Brooklyn Black clergy at a church in Brooklyn on the 27th, discussing the housing affordability crisis. This was Mamdani’s second meeting with Jeffries.

Jeffries and Clarke are leaders in the Democratic Party. So far, neither of the congress members, nor other Democratic leaders including Governor Kathy Hochul and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, have endorsed Mamdani since his victory in the primary in June.

New York State Democratic members who have not made a statement regarding Mamdani include Representatives Tom Suozzi, Dan Goldman, Gregory Meeks, Ritchie Torres, George Latimer, and Grace Meng.
