Man threatening civilians with a knife and attacking police is shot dead in Southern California.

On June 15th (Saturday) in Fullerton, Orange County, Southern California, a man wielding a weapon charged at police officers and was ultimately shot and killed by law enforcement, according to the Fullerton Police Department.

The incident began around 5 a.m. when the police received a 911 call reporting a man threatening people with a knife at the 200 block of East Imperial Highway. Kristy Wells from the Fullerton Police Department stated that the caller identified themselves as a victim of a weapons threat and requested multiple officers as the man’s behavior was deemed highly dangerous.

When officers made contact with the suspect, he appeared to be holding a knife in each hand. Despite multiple commands to drop the weapons, the suspect suddenly charged at the officers, prompting them to open fire in self-defense.

The man was taken to the hospital by medical personnel but was later pronounced dead. There were no reports of injuries to anyone else during the incident.

At the scene, a knife and a utility knife were discovered near the suspect. As standard procedure, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office will investigate the actions of the police during the incident.
