A 59-year-old man in Surin Province, Thailand, collapsed while showering recently and stopped breathing. However, he suddenly revived on the way to the hospital in an ambulance and got off the vehicle to run 3 kilometers back home because he did not want to go to the hospital. This is the second time in five years that he has come back to life after stopping breathing.
According to a report from the Thai website Thaiger, the man named Prueang Enmak had consumed a couple of bottles of beer on that day before going to take a shower but did not come out of the bathroom for a while. His 57-year-old wife, Sombat Enmak, went to check and found him lying unconscious on the bathroom floor, not breathing.
Sombat immediately called for help. Before the paramedics arrived, Prueang’s family performed CPR on him but was unsuccessful. When the emergency responders arrived, they continued CPR for 20 minutes, successfully reviving him.
However, Prueang did not speak. The paramedics decided to transport him to the hospital for further examination in an ambulance. However, on the way, he woke up suddenly, fled from the ambulance, and attempted to run back home, causing some nurses to sustain minor injuries.
Despite the paramedics chasing him in the ambulance, urging him to stop, he wielded a stick as a weapon and told the medical personnel to stay away from him.
Prueang ran barefoot for over 3 kilometers back home. His family calmed him down, helped him regain composure, and brought him inside.
Afterwards, Prueang told local media that he felt exhausted after the long run back. He was bewildered at how he managed to run that far. At that moment, all he could think of was going home instead of going to the hospital.
Recalling the incident from 4 to 5 years ago, Sombat mentioned that Prueang had a similar event back then where he stopped breathing for a night and then came back to life.
After being revived, Prueang shared his near-death experience with Sombat. He mentioned watching a traditional Thai dance during his near-death period. After the performance ended, he returned to the earthly realm.
