Man disguised as police officer robs a house on 9th Avenue; victim lightly injured and sent to the hospital.

According to a report from the NYPD’s 66th Precinct, a suspected robbery involving an individual impersonating a law enforcement officer took place on the evening of May 18th, around 7:35 pm, near 57th Street and 9th Avenue in Brooklyn’s Chinatown.

The unidentified male suspect, wearing a gray hoodie with an unidentified shield hanging around his neck, exited a black Ford SUV and approached a 42-year-old male victim who was standing on the roadway.

The suspect handcuffed the victim and ordered him to open the garage door. He then forcefully took the victim’s house keys and car keys before fleeing in the black Ford SUV, the whereabouts of which are currently unknown.

The victim was later taken to Maimonides Medical Center for treatment and reportedly only sustained minor injuries.

Authorities describe the suspect as a white male, approximately 35 to 40 years old, around 6 feet tall, slim build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black and white shoes, and a dark baseball cap at the time of the incident. The case is still under investigation, and the police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
