Male actor involved in Macao high-stakes gambling loses 1 billion? Huang Xiaoming humorously responds.

On March 12th, mainland Chinese actor Huang Xiaoming posted a series of scenic photos on Weibo with his location tagged in Fujian. He interacted with netizens, mentioning that he has been filming in Fujian. When asked about the recent online frenzy in China about “Top male star loses over 1 billion in Macau gambling,” Huang Xiaoming humorously replied, “Is it in-game credits?”

According to reports from Chinese media, there have been recent rumors on Weibo alleging that an international financial investigation institution, Global Financial Watch, released a report accusing a super A-list male star of transferring multiple sums of money to Macau casino accounts through offshore companies. The star allegedly exchanged cash for chips through underground money lenders, resulting in a total sum of over 1 billion involvement and losing 10.3 billion liquid assets consecutively in the VIP room of the casino, even mortgaging multiple luxury homes and a private jet to cover gambling debts.

Following this news, celebrities like Jay Chou and Huang Xiaoming have been implicated.

As hashtags like #Jay Chou Macau# trended on Weibo on March 11th, Jay Chou’s company, “JVR Music,” released a statement promptly denying any gambling involvement on Jay Chou’s part. Jay Chou himself clarified on Instagram that he is currently in Australia working on music with friends like Gary Cao and James Yang, while also sharing a photo of himself strolling on the streets.

Huang Xiaoming, on the other hand, immediately posted a family photo and old pictures, hinting that he has been busy filming in Fujian during this period.

Although the situation has gradually calmed down, it still sparked many suspicions among netizens. In response, Huang Xiaoming posted another set of scenic photos on Weibo on March 12th, captioned, “While filming, I casually looked up and wow! The sunset is truly beautiful! Take a shot of what you see when looking up wherever you are.”

While Huang Xiaoming did not issue a statement to refute rumors like Jay Chou did, he made it clear in interactions with netizens on Weibo that he has indeed been filming in Fujian. When specifically asked about losing ten billion, Huang Xiaoming humorously replied, “Is it in-game credits?”

Insiders have mentioned, “There are always such so-called revelations on Weibo that tease everyone to guess, but in reality, it’s just creating rumors for more attention. In the end, it will all fizzle out.”
