Yu Menglong fell from the fifth floor of an apartment in Beijing’s Chaoyang District on September 11th. The Beijing Police swiftly concluded the case within 12 hours, stating that they had “ruled out criminal suspicions.” However, key evidence at the scene, including scratches outside the window and damaged window screens, has sparked widespread skepticism.
According to a deleted post from an investigative account, a list of 17 individuals who attended a lavish gathering at the luxury apartment was exposed, with the shocking discovery of 10 bottles of high-proof foreign liquor on the receipt, implying that Yu Menglong had been intoxicated to the point of instability. The party took place at the top floor of a high-end apartment in Beijing’s Chaoyang District, owned by Zhao, a longtime friend and screenwriter of Yu Menglong who has created several popular web series.
A netizen named “Bold and Reckless” shared an analysis video regarding Yu Menglong’s fall.
The netizen analyzed that if a person is intoxicated and seeking fresh air by the window, they would generally open or lean against the window. Therefore, if Yu Menglong’s fall was indeed accidental, the scratches should not have been in that location. The netizen suggested that Yu Menglong may have been in a hanging position on the window, based on the position of the marks on the window.
Furthermore, the netizen added, “The scratch marks show a deep head, a shallow middle, and a deep tail, usually indicating hanging upside down with fingertips pointing downwards. The point of force begins at the darkest point of the scratch, potentially losing grip, leading to a decrease in strength, resulting in shallower marks. As the body moves upward, the point of force shifts, deepening the marks.”
Another netizen speculated, “Is it possible that he was drugged or passed out from alcohol, then hung upside down by someone at the window edge, struggling after waking up, but losing strength and falling?
