On November 25th, news of the disappearance of the cousin of mainland singer and actor Tong Zhuo in Cambodia went viral on Weibo.
Actor Tong Zhuo shared a distress message, stating that his younger cousin, who grew up with him, lost contact after going out for work on November 13th. Despite efforts from the family to locate him through various means, they have only been able to pinpoint his last known location. Additional information was shared via his aunt’s Weibo account under the username “Single Mom Seeks Son in Cambodia”.
According to the information posted on Weibo by “Single Mom Seeks Son in Cambodia,” Tong Zhuo’s son, Li Yiheng, lost contact after going out for work on November 13th. Till now, the family has been unable to confirm his whereabouts.
Following his disappearance, Li Yiheng managed to send a few vague messages to the family through his phone, with a very weak voice. His mother expressed the distress of hearing his fearful and exhausted state during those calls and the heartbreaking moment when he expressed his desire to come back home.
Before losing contact, Li Yiheng’s mother legally obtained rough location information of his last known whereabouts and verified the related locations. According to shared device records at the time, his last signal briefly appeared in a district in Banteay Meanchey Province, Cambodia.
Due to concerns about cross-border security and personal privacy, Li Yiheng’s mother refrained from publicly displaying screenshots of the location, park names, or satellite images. She expressed willingness to privately provide complete information, including the final location, map environment, and relevant records, to media professionals, charity workers, legal practitioners, or other professionals willing to offer assistance.
She stated that she had been in communication with relevant departments and organizations, as well as exploring various channels, but Li Yiheng’s situation remains unchanged, causing sleepless nights for the whole family. She affirmed her readiness to cooperate at any time if the police or search and rescue teams require contact details.
A Weibo influencer commented, suggesting that Li Yiheng might have been led to a scamming area under the guise of a job opportunity, emphasizing the need for more information to aid in his rescue efforts.
Another commenter advised asking for help from rescue teams with expertise, recalling successful previous rescues and expressing hope for Li Yiheng’s safe return.
Li Yiheng’s mother was encouraged to seek assistance from the Fujian-Hunan Business Association due to the significant presence of business communities from these regions in Cambodia. The commenter noted that while the situation may require a ransom, there could be hope for securing his release in Cambodia.
