Los Angeles Holds Protest Against Chinese Communist Party’s Human Rights Violations on International Human Rights Day

“Chinese Communist Party, Get Out of America!” Last Sunday (8th), in Los Angeles, hundreds of Chinese protesters gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate to march, shouting, splashing ink, and stepping on the Chinese Communist Party’s five-star blood flag to express their immense outrage at the authorities’ human rights abuses.

The international community’s condemnation of the Chinese Communist Party’s large-scale human rights abuses is becoming increasingly vocal, while the authorities defend their actions as “suitable for the national conditions of China.” Before International Human Rights Day on December 10th, Chinese people in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and other cities have gathered in front of the local Chinese consulates to expose and denounce the Communist regime’s inhumane actions.

Among the protesters in Los Angeles were members of the Chinese Democratic Party, as well as Burmese protest organizations and local Chinese residents. The demonstrators first marched three circles on the street in front of the consulate, then began the rally; they displayed banners and flags with slogans such as “Release Wang Bingzhang,” “Release Zhang Zhan,” “Freedom and Democracy, Overthrow the CCP.”

Addressing the Chinese Communist Party’s claim of “human rights suitable for the national conditions of China,” protester Zhou Xiaolong questioned during his speech: “Where in China are there human rights?”

“We were born without human rights,” he said. “When they implemented the ‘one-child policy,’ we had no say when we were still in our mother’s womb, our parents also had no say. Their slogan was ‘one person violates the policy, the entire village gets sterilized.’ How many families’ children were aborted by them (the Chinese Communist Party) before coming into the world?”

“Even the devil can’t do what the CCP has done for so many years. We cannot even decide about our own uterus, our own organs. Where do we have human rights?” Zhou Xiaolong continued angrily, “Your ancestral home, they (the CCP) say it’s going to be demolished, do you have human rights? If you go to petition, tomorrow you disappear, where are human rights?”

Zhou Xiaolong said: “The CCP’s lies have been repeated for decades, the CCP is more devilish than Satan! The CCP must step down!” His speech received enthusiastic responses from the attendees.

Christian Mr. Zhou from the mainland said during his speech: “The CCP is the worst violator of human rights in the world and the largest killing organization in human history.”

“From the perspective of the Bible, I believe that the CCP is the great red dragon described in the Book of Revelation, the devil Satan,” he further explained, “The Bible says that the devil is first a liar and also a murderer. We know that the CCP rules by lies, how many Chinese have they slaughtered in history? 500 million, including 400 million forcibly aborted fetuses.”

“Therefore, I say the CCP is an undisputed demon! Today, we must stand up to condemn it!” Mr. Zhou said.

The LA2M-Los Angeles Myanmar Movement participated in the protest that day. They condemned the CCP for supporting the Myanmar military government’s massacre of the people, extinguishing the historical opportunity for Myanmar people to strive for freedom and democracy.

Protesters displayed several photos of young Chinese of Burmese descent who had tragically died, including two 19-year-old women. James Shwe, one of the leaders of LA2M, thanked overseas Chinese for their support during his speech. He explained, “We have no enmity towards the Chinese people, we understand the challenges you face under the harsh rule of the CCP, we see you as brothers and sisters.”

Shwe said, while the CCP claims not to interfere in other countries’ affairs, their actions in Myanmar are exactly the opposite – “For their own political ambitions, they disregard the well-being of 54 million people in Myanmar!”

After Shwe’s speech, the protesters played songs of Myanmar people protesting against tyranny, urging people to unite and “end the authoritarian regime in our generation.”

During the rally, protesters collectively denounced the CCP’s excuses of “national conditions” to obscure persecution and lock up righteous human rights advocates.

Vice Chairman Jie Lijian of the Joint Headquarters of the Chinese Democratic Party listed long-term detained activists, such as the 78-year-old Wang Bingzhang – China’s first Ph.D. graduate in the United States who has been imprisoned for over twenty years, riddled with diseases, yet the authorities still refuse to allow him medical parole; and Zhang Zhan, who was recently released, solely for speaking out for persecuted rights activists, including Christian Zhang Pan Cheng.

Jie played a recorded statement from Wang Bingzhang’s sister, Wang Yuhua. Wang Yuhua said, Wang Bingzhang was sentenced to life imprisonment by the CCP, has been held in solitary confinement for 22 years, “This severely violates human rights, violates world civilization.”

To express their anger, protesters splashed ink on the portrait of Guo Shaochun, the official of the Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles. Jie said, during the last Hollywood parade, Guo Shaochun organized pro-CCP associations, claiming to represent the 56 ethnic groups of China, yet these people threatened and cursed the protesters during the parade.

“I want to ask you all, they claim to represent all Chinese people in the parade, do you agree?” Jie asked, and the crowd answered “no.”

“Utterly shameless! They wear ethnic costumes, pretending to be Mongolian, Tibetan, Uighur during the parade, this is shameless!” Jie asked, “We are represented in mainland China, do we need to be represented in America?” The crowd answered “no!” and then shouted in unison, “Chinese Communist Party, Get Out of America!”

Before Sunday’s event, the Chinese Democratic Party also held a protest in front of the Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles on Saturday. Wang Juntao, the chairman of the Party’s Central Committee, came specifically to attend, joined by hundreds of participants. On International Human Rights Day (10th), the Chinese Democratic Party and the China Democracy Foundation will continue to organize protests in front of the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco.”
