Los Angeles Chinese Beach Assembly and Parade: Do Not Forget the CCP’s June Fourth Massacre

As the commemoration day of “June 4th” approaches, the Chinese community in Los Angeles held a “Pillar of Nation’s Mourning” march last Saturday (24th) at the scenic Santa Monica beach to remember the innocent students and civilians massacred by the Chinese Communist Party 36 years ago, protesting against tyranny and exposing the inhumane crimes of the “June 4th” slaughter.

On that sunny afternoon at Santa Monica Beach, with a cool breeze blowing, the assembly and march organized by the China Democratic Party International Alliance on the pier extending into the water attracted the attention of passing tourists. They raised dozens of banners in Chinese and English, pulling open a giant banner featuring the “Pillar of Nation’s Mourning” image – a sculpture on the “June 4th” theme created by Dutch artist Guo Zhihuo.

“It’s heartbreaking to see the images of innocent students crushed by tanks over thirty years ago still affecting us today,” said event organizer Beibei Kong. “Through this assembly, we want to tell the world about the tyranny unfolding in China: not only to commemorate the victims but also to expose the CCP’s atrocities and awaken more people to its true nature.”

Participant Biao Wang expressed that his throat was nearly hoarse by the end of the day. During the distribution of flyers, he was surprised to find that some Chinese students had never heard of the June 4th massacre, showing that the CCP’s cover-up has indeed blinded many.

Another participant, Julie, was moved to see many tourists chanting slogans together. She stated that the CCP’s suppression of freedom of speech and its censorship of the truth about June 4th has left many people unaware of that historical period and the CCP’s crimes against humanity. This event further enlightened her about the evil of the Communist Party. She urged Chinese people to tell the truth about history to everyone around them, “Not just for ourselves, but for future generations.”

Eli, a Western resident, was shocked after learning the truth at the scene. He couldn’t imagine the CCP using tanks and machine guns to massacre unarmed civilians. Out of indignation, he also joined the march and shouted alongside the protesters, “End CCP!”

Volunteer Feng Zhao felt honored to participate in such an event: “We distributed flyers to visitors, telling people the true history of the CCP and informing them that ‘CCP does not represent China’. This is our responsibility.”

During the event, hundreds of English flyers introducing the origins of the assembly and march were distributed, and tourists stopped to take photos.

In China, any act of commemorating June 4th is regarded as a threat by the authorities. Before every June 4th, it is the most tense period for the authorities to strengthen public opinion censorship. People cannot express their feelings domestically, and even when they have the opportunity to express their thoughts abroad, they are still disrupted by pro-CCP individuals.

The initiator of the event and Chairman of the China Democratic Party International Alliance, Jielijian, informed reporters that during the assembly and march, a Chinese individual tried to disrupt the event: “That person attempted to incite physical conflict and trap participants legally.” He noticed that this person had accomplices nearby recording the argument on their phones. However, the assembly participants showed great restraint, and the accomplice, seeing no opportunity, pulled the man trying to cause trouble away.

Jielijian warned those driven by personal interests and who have not yet realized the nature of the CCP that they live-stream and collect evidence throughout every public event. “If anyone threatens or tries to harm us, we will report them to the authorities immediately and also document the pro-CCP attackers to the FBI and relevant departments.”
