In ancient times, it is said that right and wrong have public opinions, and fairness resides in the hearts of the people. The upcoming military parade by the Chinese Communist Party has drawn criticism from both domestic and international public opinions, accusing the CCP of using the event as a pretext to glorify itself. The CCP self-proclaims as the “backbone” of the Resistance War, using the sacrifices of millions of national army soldiers to cover itself with a coat of paint. In response to this, overseas Chinese have recently held gatherings to mourn the millions of national army soldiers who sacrificed during the Resistance War, hoping to reveal the true historical facts.
“CCP tyranny. Fake resistance, real betrayal.” This was one of the banners displayed by dozens of Chinese people during a rally outside the Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles last Sunday (August 31). During the gathering, they played the Huangpu Military Academy anthem, commemorating the martyrs of the Resistance War, and raised the flag ceremony of the Republic of China, saluting the flag and shouting in unison, “Long live the Republic of China.”
The participants believe that the CCP’s open appropriation of the achievements of the Resistance War can be described as “the most shameless act in the world, unparalleled in ancient and modern times.” Jie Li-jian stated that if the CCP had only remained indifferent during the Resistance War, it might not have caused such outrage, but its actions during the war were even more unimaginable.
Jie Li-jian, Chairman of the China Democratic Party International Alliance, introduced the large-scale battles the national army participated in during the Resistance War, as well as the national army generals who sacrificed during the war – Zhang Zizhong, Hao Mengling, Zhao Dengyu, Wang Mingzhang, Li Jiayu, Tang Huaiyuan… During the more than ten years of the Resistance War, the national army participated in at least 22 major battles on the front lines, such as the Battle of Songhu, the Battle of Wuhan, the Battle of Changsha, and the Burma-Yunnan battlefield. Historical records show that at least more than 3.2 million people were killed or injured, paying a huge price in lives. However, the CCP only participated in one ambush during a major battle and claimed in textbooks and various propaganda that it was the backbone of the Resistance War against Japan.
“What the CCP did during the Resistance War was to seize territories, kill national army soldiers, loot resources, and reach agreements with the Japanese to not interfere with each other.” Yao Yuanjie from Hunan said in his speech, “The Communist Party colluded with the Japanese army during the Resistance War, making deals, getting rich, that’s the truth, that’s the reality.”
Jie Li-jian said that the National Revolutionary Army had to fight Japan while also preventing attacks from the Communist forces. He believed that this was the strategic tactics of the CCP during the Resistance War, as they fundamentally did not want to resist Japan, but rather wanted to fish in troubled waters, expand their territories, and indeed achieved this goal. Therefore, after the establishment of the CCP, Mao Zedong publicly thanked the Japanese Imperial Army several times, even saying things like “Without your help, there would be no new China today.”
“Today, the CCP’s military parade has become a laughing stock worldwide, and it is destined to be a stench for thousands of years, to be nailed to the pillar of historical shame.” Jie Li-jian said.
In recent years, some participants who have come out of China have mostly been directly persecuted by the CCP and have been shocked by the truth of the Resistance War. Therefore, as the participants mourned the national army generals who sacrificed during the Resistance War and the music commemorated the song of the Resistance War hero Sun Liren “I Remember the Longing in Your Eyes,” many couldn’t help but shed tears.
The participants also queued up to present flowers to all the martyrs of the revolution who died for the country. During the flag-raising ceremony, as the National Anthem of the Republic of China played and the flag was raised, they couldn’t help but chant “Long live the Republic of China.”
Anti-Communist activist Liu Min believes that the CCP distorting history and presenting themselves as the “backbone of the Resistance War” is a political manipulation in itself. Today’s Chinese society is in crisis: serious unemployment, economic decline, and the birth rate has plummeted. In this context, the military parade on September 3 is actually a “political show,” not only to shift contradictions, create a false sense of nationalistic prosperity, but also to rewrite history, conceal the truth, and it’s a tool for the CCP to showcase its military power and intimidate the Chinese people.
The event organizer, Li Shiting, recounted the persecution suffered by several generations of his family by the CCP. His grandfather was a soldier of the Nationalist Party, but fled to Hong Kong after the CCP took over. During the Cultural Revolution, the entire family was criticized and looted, and his father has never been able to overcome the trauma of being harmed.
“The Communist Party is a devil, only knowing how to oppress and persecute the people, plundering their wealth. This military parade is a show of muscle to intimidate the people and threaten the world,” he said.
Before the end of the event, the participants marched multiple times around the consulate on the street. As they walked, they collectively shouted, “Fake resistance, real betrayal,” “Shame on distorting history,” “Down with the Chinese Communist Party!”
The organizations that organized this event include the China Democratic Party International Alliance, Hong Kong Democratic Construction Alliance, China Social Democratic Party, End CCP Global Alliance, Awakening New Era, International Human Rights Watch Group, China Anti-Political Persecution Alliance. The host of the event was Le Zailin. ◇
