Actor Li Yuxi’s performance in the stage play “Love Affair Within Marriage” has received positive reviews, earning him praises for his acting skills. Li Yuxi’s father, Li Yaming, showed his support by purchasing tickets for his son and surprised him by attending the performance, giving Li Yuxi a pleasant shock. Li Yaming complimented his son, noting that he seemed to have grown up overnight, especially in tackling the heavier topic of marriage in the play.
In “Love Affair Within Marriage,” Li Yuxi plays the role of a newlywed husband named Xiaozhi. Initially nervous about the invitation to perform in six consecutive shows, he found himself surprisingly calm once the performances started. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to explore marital themes at the age of 31, allowing him to reflect on his views on marriage and be more conscious of preventing issues that he may not have noticed before.
Li Yuxi admitted that the rehearsal process for a stage play differs from acting for the camera. At the start, the director focused on blocking and timing of lines, which made him feel somewhat unsettled. However, director Wu Weiwei’s positive feedback on their attempts and performances gave him the confidence to explore different interpretations during the process.
The unique presentation of the play, with three sides of the stage showcasing three couples in different marital states simultaneously, left a lasting impression on Li Yuxi. Collaborating with other talented actors like Ke Shuyuan, Li Xing, Xia Tenghong, Chen Tingni, and Lin Yingwei allowed them to breathe together on stage and portray subtle nuances of married life, creating an intriguing visual experience.
In addition to his current success, Li Yuxi will soon be seen in a new project “My Unexpected Roommate,” where he will take on the challenge of performing in Taiwanese dialect.
