South Korean renowned actor Lee Jung-jae takes on a significant role in the latest Star Wars series “The Steward” where he portrays a Jedi warrior named “Soel.” Lee devotedly practiced his English for this role, even saying in interviews that he practiced so much that he wore out his tongue, stating, “I start speaking English immediately upon waking up every day!” He also mentioned re-watching the Star Wars series before filming. Lee expressed his desire to mold his character into someone enthusiastic and respected, akin to Liam Neeson’s portrayal of a Jedi warrior.
When asked about the most impressive aspect of preparing for the filming of “The Steward,” Lee Jung-jae shared, “When I first read the script, I thought the story was fantastic. It brings a fresh shooting style by director Leslie Headland, perfectly merging with the Star Wars universe. Now that the project is officially launched, I am truly happy to be a part of it.”
The latest Star Wars spin-off series “The Steward” tells the story of a former Jedi apprentice reuniting with her Jedi Master in a world filled with dark secrets and emerging dark forces, as they investigate a series of crimes, facing more dangerous forces than they anticipated.
“The Steward” is set before the Star Wars prequel trilogy, earlier than other Star Wars series, with most classic Star Wars characters not yet born, making it easier for audiences less familiar with the Star Wars universe to delve into this new story.
The cast of the series includes South Korean star Lee Jung-jae from “Squid Game,” actress Amanda Stenberg from “The Hunger Games,” actor Manny Jacinto from “The Good Place,” actress Dafne Keen from “Logan,” and actress Carrie-Anne Moss from “The Matrix.” The series consists of a total of 8 episodes, with the first two episodes already available on Disney+.
