Lai Ching-te Launches “Ten Lectures on Unity for the Nation” to Explain Positions and Promote Social Dialogue

The Presidential Office of the Republic of China held the “Unity of the Nation Ten Speeches” press conference today (21st). Presidential spokesperson Guo Yahui stated that President Lai Ching-te hopes to directly face the society through the “Unity of the Nation Ten Speeches” speeches, to explain the government’s position, promote social dialogue, and achieve the greatest unity within the country.

This morning, Presidential spokesperson Guo Yahui announced at a press conference that President Lai Ching-te is about to officially launch the “Unity of the Nation Ten Speeches” campaign. “Since taking office on May 20th last year, President Lai has always hoped to stand with international allies in international relations, continuously deepen Taiwan’s connections with the world. We hope to express Taiwan’s willingness and ability to do more as a responsible member of the international community.”

Guo Yahui stated that internally, President Lai has consistently hoped to have concrete actions that can unite the people, unite the ruling and opposition parties, as well as unite the country. Therefore, starting from tomorrow (22nd), President Lai will be invited to speak at private organizations to carry out the “Unity of the Nation Ten Speeches” to explain the government’s position, promote social dialogue, and achieve the greatest unity within the country.

Guo Yahui said that President Lai has mentioned on many occasions that Taiwan is facing changes in the international situation and geopolitics, as well as authoritarian threats. President Lai hopes to directly face the society, explain the government’s position and promote various policies, so that more people can understand the challenges Taiwan is facing internationally and regionally. Therefore, the “Unity of the Nation Ten Speeches” will focus on different themes to explain the ruling team’s plans.

“These ten speeches advocate for national unity, starting from this moment. The themes of the speeches are the nation, unity, constitutional system, diplomacy, national defense, cross-strait relations, democracy, peace, prosperity, and balanced Taiwan,” said Guo Yahui.

Guo Yahui pointed out that President Lai hopes to address Taiwan’s voices through these topics and also listen to the thoughts of the people to achieve the greatest unity within the country. The “Unity of the Nation Ten Speeches” will kick off tomorrow, with President Lai being invited to speak at the joint meeting of Rotary International District 3490 Ninth Sub-district Seven Clubs. The first speech will focus on “the nation,” aiming to unite and become the strongest line of defense for the country.
