Korean Version of “You Are the Apple of My Eye” to Star Chanyeol and Dohyun

After the news broke yesterday that South Korea will remake the well-known Taiwanese movie “You Are the Apple of My Eye,” with TWICE’s popular member Jihyo taking on the lead female role, today (May 14), Korean media revealed the choice for the male lead.

According to “EXPORTS NEWS,” South Korea has confirmed the remake of “You Are the Apple of My Eye,” with Jihyo set to play the role of the model student, equivalent to the character “Shen Jiayi” portrayed by Michelle Chen. The male lead will be played by actor Jung Young, who was previously the leader of the boy group B1A4.

JYP Entertainment, TWICE’s management company, stated, “We have received the invitation for this project and are currently in discussions.” Jung Young’s agency also mentioned, “We have received the invitation for this project and are actively discussing it.”

Jung Young has appeared in Korean dramas such as “Good Day” and “Moonlight Drawn by Clouds,” as well as in the web series “Because It’s My First Love” and “Sweet Home 2,” and the movie “The Dude in Me.”

In addition, JYP Entertainment had previously confirmed that Jihyo will participate in the feature-length independent film “Full Speed Ahead,” making her the first TWICE member to venture into the realm of acting.
