Kia Recalls Over 300,000 Vehicles Due to Loose Parts Issue

Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling some 2023-2025 K5 models and certain 2023-2025 Telluride vehicles, with a total of over 300,000 vehicles being recalled.

These two recalls for Kia cars were issued separately by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the United States within one week.

According to the information provided, the decorative panels near the left and right rear windows of the 2023-2025 K5 models may become loose and detach. The detached panels may pose road hazards to other vehicles, increasing the risk of collisions. The number of potentially affected vehicles for this model is approximately 100,063 units.

Kia’s remedy for this issue is that dealers will inspect and replace the C-pillar garnish face plates of the K5 models (located near the left and right rear windows) as needed, free of charge. The recall number for this Kia recall is SC346.

Another model being recalled is the 2023-2025 Kia Telluride, with a potential number of affected vehicles reaching 201,149 units.

Kia stated that the door garnish strip of the 2023-2025 Telluride models (a narrow strip located at the top edge of the door where the glass window meets the door metal frame) may delaminate and detach from the vehicle.

The remedy is for owners to visit dealers for a free inspection and replacement of the affected components as necessary. The recall number for this Kia recall is SC347.

Recall notification letters from the manufacturer will be sent to owners of both models and are expected to be mailed out by September 26, 2025. Owners can contact Kia customer service at 800-333-4542 for further assistance.
