Hong Kong star Gigi Leung, who moved to Canada after getting married, has two daughters and a son with her husband, spine doctor Jeremy. Recently, she made her first advertisement appearance with her eldest daughter Kelly, showcasing not only a strong sense of affection but also drawing attention to 9-year-old Kelly’s acting talent.
The mother-daughter duo in the commercial film portrays moments where, before Gigi Leung finishes work, young Kelly stands on a stool to prepare a birthday cake for her mom; upon Gigi Leung’s return home, Kelly rushes into her arms with excitement, brimming with happiness. When little Kelly notices her mother asleep on the couch from exhaustion, she tenderly covers her with a blanket, writes a love note, demonstrating her understanding and thoughtfulness at a tender age.
At 41 years old, Gigi Leung married Canadian spine doctor Jeremy Leung in 2016, and they have since welcomed their eldest daughter, Kelly Leung, son Jared Leung, and youngest daughter Anika Leung, creating a warm and happy family of five.
Since becoming a mother of three, Gigi Leung has devoted herself to taking care of her family and often shares snippets of daily life on Instagram. While it has been noted that her husband’s strong genes make their children strongly resemble him, as the kids grow older, they are increasingly resembling their mom. Especially eldest daughter Kelly, who seems to be turning into a mini version of Gigi Leung.
Although Kelly shares more physical and personality traits with her mother, Gigi Leung once mentioned that her youngest daughter Anika has a more outgoing personality and a strong sense of rhythm; she starts dancing as soon as she hears music, thus having the most potential to inherit the performing arts “gene.”
Regarding this first collaboration with her daughter, Gigi Leung mentioned that Kelly finally understands the daily hard work her mother does, as Kelly had to continuously force a smile during the shoot. Gigi Leung won the “Miss Chinese Vancouver” pageant in 2003 and claimed the title again the following year in the “Miss Chinese International” competition hosted by TVB in Hong Kong, propelling her to become a leading actress at TVB at only 23 years old. With her experience in film, television, and music, she has gradually returned to work in recent years, holding concert tours and now appearing in advertisements with her eldest daughter Kelly, whose performance has garnered substantial attention.
As for whether she would let her daughter enter the industry as a child star, Gigi Leung frankly stated that if there are suitable productions or roles, she wouldn’t mind her daughter participating.
