A couple in Jingjiang City, Jiangsu Province had planned to have their wedding on June 1st, but tragically met their untimely death in a car accident plunging into a river the day before the ceremony.
Reports from Jimo News on June 3rd showed a video posted by netizens, displaying a white car being lifted from the river, with police and other personnel present at the scene. The location was identified as Xilai Town in Jingjiang City.
A village cadre in Xilai Town mentioned that on the Dragon Boat Festival, May 31st, a couple preparing for marriage tragically perished when their car plunged into the river, with the man being from the village and the woman from a neighboring village.
Two villagers from the village stated that both the man and woman were around 40 years old and had originally planned to hold their wedding ceremony on June 1st, but the unfortunate incident occurred on May 31st. One of the villagers also mentioned that the accident site was not far from the village, and according to eyewitnesses, the car suddenly veered into the river.
Regarding the cause of the accident, official sources from Jingjiang City stated that the authorities are currently investigating the matter.
