JetBlue Flight Skids Off Runway at Boston Airport, No Injuries Reported.

On Thursday, June 12, a JetBlue Airways flight skidded off the runway and into the grass at Logan International Airport in Boston after landing, causing a temporary halt in airport operations. The incident involved JetBlue flight 312, which was an Airbus A220 aircraft that had taken off earlier from Chicago O’Hare International Airport in Illinois and landed at Logan International Airport in Massachusetts around 11:55 a.m. Eastern Time. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated that the aircraft veered off the runway into the grass during a turn, prompting an investigation into the event.

The airport authorities provided ladders to assist passengers in disembarking from the plane and used buses to transport them to the terminal.

Following the incident, JetBlue Airways issued a statement confirming that the aircraft had deviated from the runway. The company emphasized in its statement, “Safety is JetBlue Airways’ top priority. We will conduct a comprehensive investigation into this incident and cooperate closely with relevant authorities to determine the cause of the accident.”

With approval from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the airport personnel later removed the aircraft from the grassy area several hours after the incident.

Recent aviation accidents in the United States have raised concerns among some passengers on JetBlue flight 312. Adam Glick, a passenger who had flown in from Chicago, expressed his worries to local television station WHDH in Boston, saying, “I know the news has reported many issues in the aviation industry recently. It’s really making me hesitant, and now I’m a little afraid of my return flight on Sunday.”

On the same day as this aviation incident, an Air India flight carrying 242 people crashed a few minutes after takeoff in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad. So far, only one survivor has been found among the passengers and crew on board.
