According to reports from Chinese media outlet “Everyday Economic News”, recording work for Jay Chou’s upcoming album is in progress. He recently released a new piano music video for “Impromptu”, which was created through improvisation at the Beatles Recording Studio.

Previously, Jay Chou hinted on Instagram stories that the recording engineer has arrived, indicating the start of the search for a recording studio for the new album. His management company, JVR Music, stated that many new songs have been completed and they aim to release the new album in August or September without prolonging the process.

At the age of 46, Jay Chou released his debut album “Jay” in 2000, with notable works including albums like “Ye Hui Mei” and “Common Jasmine Orange”. Apart from his music career, he has also starred in movies such as “Initial D”, “Secret”, and “Curse of the Golden Flower”.

In July 2022, after a six-year hiatus, Jay Chou released the album “The Greatest Work”, which sold over 3.8 million copies in less than 12 hours, with sales exceeding 100 million yuan. The album was featured on the Taiwanese music streaming platform “MyMusic” under “Big Brother” for six months, and eventually topped the “2022 Year-End Chart” for Chinese albums.
