Today’s focus: Israel wipes out Iran, top three military leaders eliminated simultaneously, Mossad secret operation replicates Ukraine’s “Spider Web Operation”, radiation leak at Iranian nuclear facilities, missile hits Israel’s second-largest city, and Trump’s single statement predicts all-out war in Israel.
It’s always a bit awkward when doing a program and realizing that while discussing a topic, it has already happened. Just like in yesterday’s episode when I was talking about Israel’s possible strike on Iran, Israel not only had already taken action but the impact was earth-shattering.
In the early hours of June 13th local time, Israel launched a military operation codenamed “Rising Lion”, targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities and top military echelons. This operation perfectly demonstrated the military principle of “fast, accurate, and fierce”. Israel destroyed Iran’s main nuclear research base, the Natanz uranium enrichment facility, in a single night.
What shocked everyone even more was that Israel also precisely decapitated Iran’s top three military leaders: Brigadier General Baqeri, chief of staff of the Iranian armed forces, General Salami, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and Brigadier General Raheid, deputy chief of staff of the armed forces and commander of the central command. Additionally, at least six nuclear scientists were targeted and eliminated. The precision and brutality of this operation were chilling.
For the Iranian military and nuclear industry, it was almost like a sudden “brain death”. Overnight, they were decapitated. The precision was akin to “surgical strikes”, with Israeli warplanes launching low-yield precision bombs that could even penetrate apartment walls and explode directly in targeted bedrooms, minimizing collateral damage to other residents in the same building.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei now finds himself in a particularly embarrassing situation. The previous day, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Commander Salami was boasting, claiming the next confrontation with Israel would be “more fierce, more destructive, and more devastating.” Yet, his words were barely out of his mouth before Israel mercilessly destroyed him. This seemingly powerful authoritarian regime in Iran turned out to be incredibly fragile.
This Israeli operation has once again become a textbook case in military strategy, with a wave of attacks divided into multiple stages, showcasing the ultimate fusion of intelligence gathering and military strikes. Years ago, the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad conducted a series of secret operations within Iran, targeting the destruction of Iran’s strategic missile systems and air defense capabilities. Mossad agents recently successfully smuggled and deployed unmanned aerial attack systems in Iran, utilizing tactics similar to Ukraine’s recent “Spider Web Operation”. When the Israeli air force’s 200 warplanes flew towards Iran, the pre-positioned Israeli drones suddenly launched surprise attacks on strategic locations in Iran, targeting surface-to-air missile launchers and ballistic missile silos, incapacitating Iran’s main air defense systems.
Following this, Israeli warplanes initiated the first wave of attacks against Iran, with F-35 stealth fighters leading the way, bombing nearly all air defense systems in western Iran. Subsequently, a large number of F-15, F-16 fighter jets, with the support of refueling tankers, launched long-distance strikes, targeting high-ranking Iranian military officials, nuclear experts in a “decapitation operation” and conducting deep bombing of underground nuclear facilities and missile arsenals.
The Israeli military revealed the flight path from Israel to Iran, a 1500-kilometer bombing run, as well as a simulation demonstration of the target aiming at the Natanz underground uranium enrichment facility in central Iran.
Interestingly, before the Israeli air raid, the flight maps over Iran were normal, but at the 15-second mark in the video, all aircraft over Iran rapidly dispersed, indicating the detection of Israeli airstrikes, with all planes swiftly exiting the combat airspace.
Footage captured the aftermath of the bombing of an Iranian ballistic missile base by Israeli high-yield bunker busters, causing numerous secondary explosions that appeared like a live laser show in the video.
Just as the first wave of bombings ended, Israel’s second wave of attacks focused on long-range drones, with a large number of drones heading directly towards major Iranian cities, especially the capital Tehran, where the military command center was bombed. These two waves of attacks completely crippled Iran’s radar systems, major nuclear facilities, and crucial missile bases, approximately 100 strategic targets, incuding the Natanz uranium enrichment facility and the Arak heavy water production plant, were severely damaged. The Arak plant annually produces heavy water for nearby nuclear reactors and can produce 10 to 12 kilograms of plutonium per year.
You might wonder why such a massive attack on Iran suddenly occurred today considering the longstanding animosity between Israel and Iran? The root cause of Israel’s aggressive stance lies in the fundamental logic of whether Israel perceives its “survival” as fundamentally threatened. Let’s first listen to what Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu had to say after the Israeli air raid.
If you think Netanyahu’s statement is just one side of the story, take a look at a recent statement by the International Atomic Energy Agency, which explicitly stated that in the past three months, Iran’s uranium enrichment has increased significantly from 605.8 pounds to 900.8 pounds. What does this mean? A US think tank has predicted that Iran could acquire the enriched uranium needed for a nuclear bomb in a matter of days and enough to produce 9 nuclear bombs in 3 weeks, reaching 22 bombs in 5 months. This compelled Israel to take immediate and decisive action against Iran.
So, what role did the US play in this operation? A shocking coincidence is that on April 12th, US President Trump issued a 60-day ultimatum to Iran, demanding that Iran sign the nuclear agreement. However, despite five rounds of nuclear negotiations, Iran has not relented, rejecting all US proposals. So, if you count from April 12th to today, June 13th, it’s been a total of 61 days, in other words, yesterday was Trump’s deadline, and today, Israel took action. Subsequently, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard commander, deputy commander, chief of staff, army commander, air force commander, and top nuclear scientists were all killed.
Trump took to social media after the Israeli strike on Iran. His first post is a prime example of veiled threats. Trump said, “I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal. I told them, ‘Just do it,’ no matter how hard they tried, no matter how close they got, they just couldn’t. I told them the situation would be worse than anything they knew, expected, or had been told. The US has the world’s best and deadliest military equipment, unmatched, and Israel has plenty of it too, and even more—they know how to use it. Some of Iran’s hardliners had boldly stated, but they didn’t know what was about to happen. They’re all dead now, and things will only get worse! There has already been a lot of death and destruction, but there is still time to end this massacre. The planned attacks to come will be more brutal. Iran must make a deal before it all disappears, saving what was once called the Iranian Empire. No more death, no more destruction, do it now, before it’s too late.”
A few hours later, Trump posted again, shorter this time, saying, “Two months ago, I gave Iran a 60-day ultimatum to ‘make a deal.’ They were supposed to do that! Today is day 61. I told them how to do it, but they just couldn’t. Now, perhaps they have a second chance!”
So, how did a stunned Iran respond? Following the principle of “you can cook the duck well-done, but the mouth must remain tough”, on June 13, Iran raised a red flag at the Jamkaran Mosque, signaling an official call for revenge. However, half a day after being comprehensively hit in the early hours, Iran still failed to successfully launch any ballistic missile attacks on Israel, with the first wave of Iranian drone attacks being intercepted before reaching the Israeli border.
According to internal sources, the Iranian military and Revolutionary Guard command structure are in shock. Today, English-language slogans demanding Israel to “beat them up!” appeared on the streets of Tehran. This phenomenon reveals the Iranian people’s discontent with the regime of Khamenei. Since the Iranian Revolution of 1979, the regime has long relied on the combination of religion and military power, but external economic sanctions and severe social injustice have created significant animosity among the Iranian people towards the authoritarian regime. At this critical moment, the exiled first heir to the Iranian Pahlavi dynasty in the US, Reza Pahlavi, called on the Iranian military and police to defect from the regime and join the people, urging the people to reclaim their Iran.
The position of Saudi Arabia, a key player in the Middle East, also adds a variable to the Iranian crisis. Recently, Saudi Crown Prince Salman stated that Iran’s Supreme Leader aims to create a Hitler-like plan in the Middle East, a danger that many countries are only recognizing when it’s too late. The Saudi Crown Prince’s words undoubtedly indirectly support Israel’s actions. The Israeli operation against Iran may usher in a new turning point in the history of the Middle East in the coming months.
In the latest development, in a new round of missile attacks by Israel, the residence of Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei was hit. Iranian media reported that after the bombing of the Natanz nuclear facility, nuclear radiation leakage had begun. Amid the chaos, the rejuvenated Iranian military has launched a new round of missile counterattacks against Israel. According to reports, Iranian missiles have hit the center of Tel Aviv, Israel’s second-largest city.
Today, Israel officially issued a final ultimatum to Iran, demanding unconditional surrender, as the Israeli military is prepared to engage in full-scale war with Iran.
