Israel: 40,000 Hamas targets struck in a year

On Monday (October 7th), marking the one-year anniversary since the outbreak of the Hamas-Israel conflict, the Israeli military stated that over the past year, their forces targeted more than 40,000 objectives in Gaza, discovered 4,700 tunnel shafts, and destroyed 1,000 rocket launching sites.

The Israeli military released statistics related to the Gaza conflict on Monday. The data showed that since October 7th of last year, a total of 726 Israeli soldiers have lost their lives in combat. Among them, 380 died in the attacks on October 7th last year, while 346 died during the retaliatory operations that began on October 27th.

Commemorating the anniversary of the October 7th event, the Israeli military indicated that since the start of the war, they have recruited 300,000 reserve soldiers, with 82% being male and 18% female, nearly half (46.56%) aged between 20 and 29 years old.

According to statistics, since the start of the war, extremist groups like Hamas have launched 13,200 projectiles (rockets, shells, or missiles) towards Israel from the Gaza Strip. The Israeli military also stated that 12,400 projectiles came from Lebanon, 60 from Syria, 180 from Yemen, and 400 from Iran.

The Israeli military reported that in the past year, they have eliminated 8 Gaza armed group battalion commanders, around 30 company commanders, and 165 platoon commanders. Additionally, approximately 17,000 Hamas members and other terrorist organization members have been killed in Gaza.

As per Israeli records, on October 7, 2023, Hamas militants attacked southern Israel, resulting in 1,200 fatalities and 251 individuals being taken as hostages, triggering the Gaza conflict. Currently, over 100 hostages are still being held by Hamas.

The Gaza Health Department under Hamas control claimed that over 41,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, but this number could not be independently verified. It is believed that this data does not distinguish between civilians and Hamas members.

In Lebanon, the Israeli Defense Forces stated that they have killed over 800 terrorists, most of whom are members of the Iran-backed Hezbollah. Israel mentioned that this figure includes 90 Hezbollah commanders.

Israel also mentioned that the Military Intelligence Unit 504 has interrogated around 7,000 Palestinian suspects in the Gaza Strip, with many being arrested and brought to Israel for further questioning. After questioning, those found not involved in terrorist activities have been relocated to safe areas in Gaza.
