Iran Mahan Air Issues Announcement to Resume Some China Flights

Iran and Israel continue to exchange bombings, as on June 21, Mahan Air of Iran announced the resumption of some passenger flights between China and Iran on its WeChat official account.

Mahan Air stated in its announcement that it will resume some flights between Shanghai and Beijing to Mashhad starting from June 22.

According to Mahan Air’s flight schedule, there will be two flights per week between Shanghai and Mashhad, one on Mondays and the other on Thursdays; and only one flight per week between Beijing and Mashhad on Tuesdays. The flight schedule for Guangzhou/Shenzhen will be announced separately.

These flights are scheduled between June 22 and July 20, and Mahan Air has not yet announced the subsequent flight arrangements.

Mahan Air also noted in the remarks that the departure and arrival points of these flights have changed from Tehran, the capital of Iran, to Mashhad Airport.

Mashhad is the second largest city in Iran, located in the northeast of the country. It is also an important religious pilgrimage site with convenient transportation links such as domestic flights, highways, and trains between the city and the capital Tehran.

In addition, according to reports from several Indian media outlets, Iran has opened its closed airspace to India, specifically for the use of evacuation flights for Indians. Mohammad Javad Hosseini, the Deputy Head of the Iranian delegation in India, stated that around 1,000 Indians traveled from Tehran to Qom, then transferred to Mashhad, and finally evacuated to New Delhi, India via three chartered flights operated by Mahan Air of Iran.
