iPhone 17 released in Taiwan, people queue up 9 days in advance to grab the first spot

The Apple iPhone 17 series went on sale today in Taiwan, attracting many Apple fans to queue up at the stores of major telecom operators Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile, and Far EasTone. Chunghwa Telecom held the iPhone 17 series launch event at its service center in Taipei’s Eastern District today, announcing the official sale of the full range of iPhone 17 series, iPhone Air, and selected models of Apple Watch at nearly 500 designated service points and Chunghwa Telecom stores nationwide starting at 8 a.m.

Chunghwa Telecom Chairman James Chih-Cheng stated that the company, as the first to sell iPhones in Taiwan, has gained the trust of a large number of Apple fans over the past 18 years. Taiwan Mobile held its iPhone 17 series launch event at its cultural and creative store in Taipei today, creating a F1-themed atmosphere with classic scenes like starting grid, finish line arch, and award podium. The General Manager of Taiwan Mobile, Lin Chi-Chen, and the Business Director for Individual Users, Lin Tung-Min, played the role of “race car drivers,” while annual spokesperson Li Chu-Heng appeared as the most beautiful F1 “flag bearer” for the new device’s activation ceremony.

On the first sales day at the Taipei cultural and creative store, Taiwan Mobile attracted a large number of Apple fans queuing up, with Mr. Huang from Taichung securing the first spot for the third consecutive year and arriving to queue up at 10 p.m. on the 17th.
