As netizens pressed for information on when the police reported the incident, on the evening of September 16, the studio suddenly posted a screenshot claiming to be a post from Yu Menglong’s mother, revealing that he had accidentally fallen from the building after drinking and that all the necessary arrangements had been completed. However, this message has sparked strong skepticism and scrutiny from online users.
The screenshot shared by “Yu Menglong Studio” on their Weibo account at 9:31 p.m. on September 16 was captioned “Sharing a picture.”
The content of the image showed a person claiming to be Yu Menglong’s mother stating, “Recently, I experienced immense grief as my beloved son Yu Menglong tragically passed away due to a drinking-related accident, leaving us forever. This sudden turn of events has plunged us into deep sorrow. The authorities have informed me of the investigation and everything has been taken care of. I hope everyone can approach this unexpected event rationally and refrain from speculating. I also hope to return to a peaceful life soon, cherishing memories of Menglong and striving to make the best of every day. I believe that this is also what Menglong would have wanted.”
As questions arose regarding when the police reported the case of Yu Menglong to the public, the release of this screenshot by “Yu Menglong Studio” prompted intense scrutiny.

On September 11, the Weibo account “Detective Xiaoyan” posted a message confirming the news that early that morning, the lead actor of dramas “Eternal Love” and “The Princess Weiyoung,” Yu Menglong, had tragically fallen to his death in a residential compound in Beijing, causing a stir on social media with multiple related posts trending on Weibo. Subsequently, “Detective Xiaoyan” was banned from Weibo.
Later that evening, “Yu Menglong Studio” confirmed the news. As of now, the authorities have not made any public statements regarding the case.
