From midnight on October 1st to the early hours of the 2nd, a comet that appears once every 60,000 years passed over the sky of Beijing, sparking discussions. Known as the Comet Atlas, it was discovered by the Purple Mountain Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2023, with a orbital period lasting tens of thousands of years.

During the National Day holiday, the once-in-60,000 years comet passing over Beijing has stirred up discussions among netizens.

Some netizens commented: “The comet is also known as the Broom Star.” “Does this indicate that something major is about to happen?” “Once-in-60,000 years, this is a significant historical moment.” “The appearance of the Broom Star is not a good sign.” “Remember that comets, in ancient times, represent omens, indicating a change in destiny.”

Historically, comets appearing have almost always been omens of calamity. For example, the country could experience uprisings, generals may fall in battle, rebellions may occur, monarchs may die, prominent generals may perish, and so on.

If a comet is long-lasting and visible, it indicates deep calamity such as the death of a sovereign and the fall of a capital, while a short-lived comet signifies a shallower disaster.

On the eve of the National Day, people in Shenzhen, Tibet, and other places in China also witnessed the comet passing through the sky. It is reported that shortly after sunset from October 10th to 12th, this comet will once again soar over the skies of Beijing. Therefore, with the comet being long-lasting this time, does it foretell the death of the sovereign and the fall of the capital?

As recorded in the “Annals of Jin” in ancient China, comets are also associated with sweeping away, symbolizing the removal of the old to make way for the new and dynastic change.

As per “Zuozhuan,” it states, “And the comet is born to sweep away impurities.” Meaning to sweep away filth.

In ancient China, comets were known as Star Beis. Dong Zhongshu, a thinker of the Western Han Dynasty, believed that “Bei is born of evil qi.” Liu Xiang, a senior minister and scholar of the Western Han Dynasty, said, “Comets are signs of treacherous ministers and usurpations.”

In the “Book of Han” and the “Later Han,” dozens of records of “Star Beis” phenomena can be found, corresponding to disasters, warfare, assassinations, and other events.

For example, as per the “Zuo Zhuan,” in the 14th year of Duke Wen of Lu (613 BC), “in the autumn of the seventh month, a comet entered the Northern Dipper. Internal Historian Shufu of Zhou said, ‘Within seven years, the sovereigns of Song, Qi, and Jin will all die in chaos.'” A comet passing through the Northern Dipper, Shufu predicted that within seven years, the sovereigns of the three states of Song, Qi, and Jin would die in internal chaos.

It is worth mentioning that as the comet passed over Beijing on October 1st, an earthquake struck Feidong County, Anhui. Since September 18th, Feidong County has been experiencing continuous earthquakes, causing concerns of a major quake, with many people afraid to stay at home and opting to sleep on the streets.

During the Tangshan earthquake in July 1976, scientists found that a comet had been approaching the earth since June and stayed quite close between July and September, within 0.125 to 0.3 astronomical units.

Comets have been regarded as “disaster stars” in both traditional Chinese culture and ancient Western beliefs. In 1066, Halley’s Comet appeared over England, and the same year in September, Duke William of Normandy launched a war against England. The English King Harold II died in the famous Battle of Hastings, and William claimed the throne. Residents witnessing the comet’s high appearance depicted their fears on the Bayeux Tapestry, a scene that has been passed down through generations.

During the return of Halley’s Comet in 1986, the US space shuttle Challenger exploded.

In addition to comets, Beijing has witnessed three meteorites falling since the beginning of this year. Some analyses suggest that, according to the ancient concept of “heaven and man being one,” these repeated phenomena in Beijing may indicate an impending change of dynasty.

On March 4, 2024, the first day of the CPPCC National Committee, a huge meteorite fell in Beijing, triggering earthquakes in multiple regions.

Around 10:30 pm on September 20th, another meteorite lit up the sky over Beijing with blue-green light, illuminating the entire night sky. Many people in Hebei, Tianjin, and other places also witnessed this spectacle.

Meteorites that land on the ground are called meteorites. In March 1976, Jilin, China experienced a rare meteorite shower. That same year, high-ranking Chinese Communist Party officials Zhou Enlai, Zhu De, and Mao Zedong all passed away, alongside the devastating Tangshan earthquake which claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands.

In mainland China today, plagued by ongoing disasters, rumors abound within the CCP about changes in party leadership and the internal power struggle. The passage of the comet after the meteorite may be signaling the rapid approach of more calamities and internal upheavals within the CCP. Furthermore, aside from signaling disasters, the comet’s appearance also symbolizes the removal of the old, ushering in the new, and the transition of dynasties. Perhaps the change of dynasty in Beijing is not far off?

Since the second half of 2021, there has been a wave of salary reductions for civil servants and various financially supported personnel in almost all provinces of China. Allowances and bonuses have been canceled or reduced. Tian Liang, a government official in a Zhejiang municipal government department, recently revealed that his salary had been cut by over 20% over the past three years. The salary reduction was not directly applied to the basic salary but implemented through various means.

“At the end of 2021, the annual bonus for civil servants was significantly reduced. The performance bonus for civil servants was reduced from 60,000 to 20,000 yuan, and the additional one-month bonus was decreased from 15,000 to 3,000 yuan. As a result, my income decreased from over 190,000 to just over 140,000 yuan, a drop of 50,000. That’s a reduction of 20% in total.”

Tian Liang explained the detailed breakdown of the income of mainland civil servants: The first is the basic salary, usually comprised of two components – position rank salary and level salary, based on the standards set by the central government in Beijing; the second is monthly allowances and subsidies, all borne by local finances; and thirdly, the year-end annual bonus, divided into an assessment incentive for civil servants, with an additional one-month bonus issued before the lunar new year.

He speculated that the average salary for deputy bureau-level officials is around 200,000 to 250,000 yuan, down from the previous range of 300,000 to 350,000 yuan; for officials at the bureau level, it is currently around 250,000 to 300,000 yuan, down from the earlier range of 350,000 to 450,000 yuan. There are whispers suggesting another deduction of around 40,000 yuan per person on average.

Tian Liang stated that this round of salary reductions may be nationwide, “Now Zhejiang also needs to rely on issuing bonds for financing, and there is not so much financial income to transfer to western regions. In this way, there is a major fiscal crisis in the CCP, and it won’t be long before it surfaces.”

The CCP regularly releases financial revenue figures, showing a significant increase in non-tax revenue this year, including various government fines. Outside observers continue to question the authenticity of official data.

Tian Liang mentioned that the true financial state of the CCP can be estimated from the extent of salary reductions and the shutdown of enterprises. Due to numerous business closures, profits of export enterprises are very low, corporate income tax has plummeted, and land transfer fees have decreased significantly, indicating an imminent large-scale financial crisis.

Facing financial difficulties, the CCP has developed a “corrupt official economy” model. For example, new prisons are being built in all regions specifically to detain fallen officials. These prisons are referred to as “corrupt official prisons,” and “every region in the province has one.” Amid the economic downturn, and fiscal constraints, the CCP’s absurd approach involves confiscating the assets of corrupt officials to use for fiscal purposes.

Tian Liang disclosed that the authorities are preparing to arrest a large number of individuals. He believes that such prisons exist in every region nationwide, specifically to detain corrupt officials, known as the “corrupt official economy.” A critical aspect is that “the CCP first uses corrupt officials to destroy private entrepreneurs, then the discipline inspection commissions apprehend these officials, squeeze out money, forming a cycle.”

He further stated that CCP officials are appropriating the assets of private entrepreneurs in various ways, delegated by high-ranking officials to be executed by lower-ranking officials. These methods include: forcing equity investments, collecting dividends; coercive changes in legal entities; scrutiny by tax and commerce departments leading to fines; government intervention to borrow from enterprises under the pretext of loans, effectively confiscating money.

According to statistics from the official website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CCP, from January 1 to September 13, 2024, 40 central management cadres were investigated, including 7 at the provincial ministerial level, 28 at the deputy provincial ministerial level, and 5 at the bureau level. From January to December 2023, a total of 45 central management cadres were investigated, making it the year with the highest number of central management cadres investigated since the 18th National Congress of the CCP in 2012.

On Double Ten Day during the National Day celebrations, Lai Ching-te pointed out in his speech that the People’s Republic of China (PRC) could never be the “motherland” of the people of the Republic of China (ROC), sparking discussions in Taiwan. His remarks even made it to the homepage of the British newspaper The Guardian.

He emphasized, “The People’s Republic of China just celebrated its 75th birthday on October 1, and in a few days, the Republic of China will celebrate its 113th birthday. In terms of age, it is absolutely impossible for the People’s Republic of China to be the motherland of the people of the Republic of China; on the contrary, the Republic of China may be the motherland for people over 75 years old in the People’s Republic of China.”

Lai Ching-te’s clarification on the term “motherland” has been stirring up continuous discussions in the Chinese-speaking community. However, according to a report by Voice of America, a Weibo account named “Forced Unification” with over 1.1 million followers edited and uploaded a clip of Lai Ching-te’s speech on Saturday evening with annotations like “The Republic of China is a former regime, already destroyed in 1949.” Yet, the video was unexpectedly taken down within an hour for reasons unknown.

This censorship demonstrates the CCP’s fear of Lai Ching-te’s statement, which is compelling and persuasive, leaving them with no way to counter it except for suppression. The CCP often accuses Taiwan of forgetting its origins and being unwilling to acknowledge that they are Chinese. However, the Chinese culture has always emphasized respect for elders. Why should a 113-year-old acknowledge a 75-year-old as their ancestor? This statement exposes the falsehoods of the CCP, hitting at the heart of their deception.
