Media searches revealed that the female judge had organized meetings in the capacity of a court chief. On December 4, a topic labeled “Official Confirmation: Female Judge Causes Death of 2 People in Reversing Incident” briefly topped the hot search list on Weibo.
A viral video online showed a white sedan accelerating in reverse suddenly in a residential area. Two pedestrians walking from the rear had no time to evade and were directly pulled under the car, while two children nearby managed to escape in time.
On December 4, an informant told reporters from “JiMu News” that the accident occurred in Qixing Jiayuan Community in Wushan Town back in November. The video mentioned above was footage from the community surveillance. The two women unfortunately killed by being pulled under the car, while the two children were unharmed. The driver responsible for the accident allegedly hit the pedestrians behind due to a reversing mistake. The informant identified the driver as a local court judge named Qiao.
Two nearby store owners near Qixing Jiayuan Community said that residents have been discussing the incident in recent days. One of the store owners confirmed after watching the video that the accident happened right in Qixing Jiayuan Community.
Searches by the reporter on the local court’s official WeChat public account revealed several articles mentioning Qiao. Among them, a few days before the accident, Qiao organized a special court affairs meeting in her capacity as a court chief.
On the evening of December 4, officials from the authoritative department of Urad Front Banner responded to “JiMu News” that the local traffic police department had issued an accident liability determination document regarding the incident.
After preliminary investigation, it was found that on November 15, Qiao did not observe the vehicle condition, road conditions, and pedestrians while reversing in the community. Without ensuring safety, she hit the pedestrians, resulting in the deaths of two women. Qiao reacted inappropriately and operated incorrectly when faced with a sudden situation while reversing, bearing full responsibility for the accident. The two children present at the scene managed to avoid harm. Next, the local authorities will carry out follow-up accident investigation and handling procedures, as well as post-accident work.
